Blister packaging can take on a variety of shapes and styles, but there are two basic types. The first type is a thermoformed cavity attached with heat and pressure to a printed blister card. The front and back of the blister card can be printed. The second type is a clamshell package that contains the product and information card sandwiched in between two layers of plastic. This second type can be hinged, sealed by hand with fasteners, or securely welded shut so that only the end consumer can get gain access to the product.
